Smarter and More Flexible Valves

Moog is a leader in developing Servovalves and Servo-Proportional Valves with fieldbus networking ability and software to enable a range of functionality never before available.

From real-time diagnostics to parameterization, the advantages that these valves bring to machine builders are revolutionary. The end result is improved machine performance, repeatability, design flexibility and increased uptime. As a performance leader, these products offer the renowned dynamics and reliability that Moog is known for in the markeplace.

Moog’s Digital Interface Valve and Axis Control Valves contain microprocessor based electronics and a CANopen fieldbus. These valves are parameterized and monitored using the built-in CAN-bus interface and the Moog Valve Configuration software. They are flexible in transmitting data such as command signals either via the CANopen process data protocol or via the analog inputs and outputs. All of our valve fieldbus interfaces conform to standard protocols to enable users to work with a variety of standard and custom PLC and PC-based applications.

Benefits

  • Reliable Communication - Fieldbuses offer a high degree of noise immunity, reliability and advanced diagnostic capabilities with remote or on-site access.
  • Repeatability - Totally digital signal path eliminates typical conversion problems of an analog signal.
  • Flexibility - Easy configurability, even during a machine cycle, allows valves to be matched to operating conditions without the need to adjust hardware.
  • Enhanced Functionality - Distributed control allows tasks to be assigned to local devices rather than the main control device, thus freeing capacity and enabling new design options.
  • Improved Performance: Digitally tune the valve to the exact requirements of the application easily using the Moog Valve Configuration Software, and a CAN connection to the PC.
  • Optimized PID Adjustment: Optimize valve performance and stability by adjusting a single value vs. the time to fine-tune pots in a conventional valve, saving both time and money.
