Intern Profile: Harry J

A passionate product designer, Harry joined Moog to improve his CAD skills and gain valuable insight into what life at a global engineering firm is like.

Harry found an advert for Moog’s internship placements online while studying at the University of Sheffield, and thought that the Aircraft Group would offer him the best chance to learn and improve.

At the moment, Harry has been focused on a variety of document reviews – a vital part of the design process. “I’ve already been able to help out my department by identifying some mistakes in updates to a drawing – if I hadn’t found them at this stage, the product could have been developed with flaws,” Harry said.

“I’m enjoying taking part in investigative processes – as Moog produces components with very high tolerances, it’s crucial to ensure that they are all working correctly. So part of my job is to investigate ongoing issues that may be affecting the quality of valves and materials,” Harry continued.  

Although Harry has only been at Moog for a short time, he already feels like part of the furniture: “I can’t believe how friendly everyone is to me – it’s a really nice working environment, which definitely gets the best out of me as an employee.”
