Intern Profile: Kristaps S

Kristaps wanted to know what it was like to work for a global engineering company as part of his placement, but was particularly drawn to apply thanks to Moog’s emphasis on healthy company culture.

As part of the Product Engineering team in the Aircraft Group, Kristaps’ day is never the same. “One day could be spent running around A&T or digitising data, another could be reworking valves or investigating failures. The work is very varied and unpredictable, which I really enjoy,” Kristaps said.

So far, Kristaps has been able to get stuck into a variety of different projects, and has already taken the initiative to improve processes. “I prevented a line stop after a supplier was not able to provide silicone fluid because of a global supply shortage by researching, calculating, blending, testing and certifying externally our own fluid,” Kristaps continued.

After his year at Moog, Kristaps will go back to the University of Manchester to get his master’s degree, but in the meantime, can benefit from the knowledge and camaraderie of his department. “The team is really supportive and go out of their way to help however they can,” Kristaps concluded.
