Intern Profile: Nicola P

Nick’s journey to Moog was slightly different to some of our other interns – as a Sports Management student, Moog may have seemed like an odd fit.

However, Nick was looking for experience in a completely different industry, and had worked in marketing previously in his home country of Bulgaria. “An internship provides experience that can set one up for a successful career in any field,” Nick said. “I chose Moog because I was familiar with the company and its immense diversification, working with industries that have sustainable future implications. So I decided to take a chance, and haven’t regretted it for a second.”

As part of the Marketing team, Nick is responsible for helping them identify potential opportunities. “I’m typically engaging with multiple tasks at once, and while my duties are very varied, I’m usually involved in researching a particular industry or market, and investigating the companies with the strongest presence in that market,” Nick said.

In particular, Nick has been working on projects to do with Moog’s sub-miniature products and their potential applications. His research into the marine racing industry has already been actively used in marketing campaigns, allowing the company to engage in prospecting on LinkedIn and target companies they had never reached out to before. “The whole process of analysing key players and decision makers in the industry taught me a lot about the kind of companies Moog works with and gave me a crash course in yacht racing! I’m passionate about sport and fitness, so this was a really interesting project to work on and I hope this project provides a stepping stone for many future initiatives,” Nicola said.

So far, Nick has enjoyed his time at Moog – he has been able to travel between sites to meet other interns, and took part in the Motorsport team’s exhibition at CTS 2022. “The team have been really understanding from day one and I’ve been given lots of interesting opportunities. Everyone is very supportive, and it makes Moog a great place to work,” Nick concluded.
